THE BRIEF

ABC GROUP had merged with a similar business earlier that year, which brought new challenges to the team:

  • Changes in employee culture
  • Integration of existing employees with new core values
  • Creation of new recruitment campaign
  • A new personal development programme for star performers

The Castles Can Fly Approach

Half day out door, on the Beach building a massive Sandcastle,

Another half day indoor, unpacking through World Café focus: on burning questions.

Morning Session: Design , Build & Sell, with different team members from the 2 merging groups.

Several simulations were carried out and the groups responsed through their own ingenuity and resources.

Afternoon session: light hearted ice breaker plus, re-configure team members so to ensure thorough mixing.  Gallery walks was conducted using the Castle as metaphor to represent how the 2 can merge with lesser friction, clear communications and common goals identified.

The Results

  • Both the programs broke down boundaries and created “togetherness” within the business.
  • Delegates of the programme discovered and explored more about their own personalities.
  • All individuals were able to recognise and appreciate the diversity of other personalities.
  • Delegates learned new techniques to adapt, connect, and build rapport with others.
This creates a fresh and positive energy within the organisation. Staff are more confident and comfortable following the workshop and can’t wait for the next one.”
